How to Get There:
From San Jose:
From San Jose take the highway #32 to Limon. You will pass the Braulio Carrillo National Park, the Rain Forest Aerial Tram, and then as you start descending the hill you will find the road to your left with the sign “Horquetas,” "Puerto Viejo” and “La Virgen”. Turn left and continue that road until you reach Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui.
From San Jose via Heredia:
From Heredia downtown, look for the sign to Barva de Heredia, (Please see the Heredia downtown map #26 and follow the green route)
Once in Barva follow the signs to Varablanca and San Miguel. Continue this road straight and you will be at Puerto Viejo Sarapiqui very soon. Heredia does not have many signs, as this road is not so frequently used by tourists, nevertheless is also a beautiful road to take.
From Alajuela:
From Alajuela take the road to Poas Volcano, (Please see Alajuela downtown map #24 and follow the green route) Continue driving towards Varablanca, and then to San Miguel and into Puerto Viejo. This will be also an easy and beautiful way to reach to Puerto Viejo.
