From San Jose viaTaras If you are coming from San Jose take the Panamerican Highway # 2 south. After passing a toll booth and the exit to Tres Rios keep driving up the hill (Ochomogo) and once you are descending stay on the highway by turning right and then straight ahead to Cartago downtown.
Once in Cartago downtown stay in that road straight until the highway ends and keep straight passing the parks and ruins until you get to “La Basilica de Los Angeles”. Keep straight and just after "La Basilica" you will see the sign to Lankester Gardens, Paraiso and Orosi. (See map of Downtown Cartago #24 and follow the light blue route)
